Introduction
PROJECT MATTER AND ENERGY FOR 1ST AND 2ND GRADES OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Compare characteristics of different materials present in everyday objects, discussing their origin, how they are discarded, and how they can be used more consciously. Creation of sustainable places and reuse of materials. Workshop on recyclable toys, proposing the use of different materials for the construction of everyday objects, considering some properties of these materials (flexibility, hardness, transparency, etc.). Discuss the necessary precautions to prevent domestic accidents related to these materials and observe the interference of improperly directed waste in our routines.
Workshop on where does water come from? An activity where we will start the process of discovering the water cycle, following it from rainfall to its arrival in rivers.
For the realization of these activities, students will meet a local resident character who knows a lot about nature and can help everyone in this discovery process; the adventures of this day will be very special, combining content and "gamification".
PROJECT MATTER AND ENERGY FOR 3RD, 4TH, AND 5TH GRADES OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Application of knowledge about the physical state changes of water to explain the hydrological cycle and analyze its implications in agriculture, climate, electricity generation, provision of drinking water, and the balance of regional (or local) ecosystems, as well as enabling the student to understand problems related to the cycles involving its use.
Workshop to build a mini hydroelectric plant with the students. Identify the main uses of water and other materials in daily activities to discuss and propose sustainable ways to use these resources.
Build collective proposals for more conscious consumption and create technological solutions for the proper disposal and reuse or recycling of materials consumed at school and/or in daily life.
Study the influence of vegetation cover on maintaining the water cycle, soil conservation, watercourses, and atmospheric air quality.
For the realization of these activities, students will meet a local resident character who knows a lot about nature and can help everyone in this discovery process; the adventures of this day will be very special, combining content and "gamification".
"Gamification" in education refers to the use of traditional game elements in teaching-learning processes.
