Introduction
"THE BEGINNING OF THINGS"
The Project takes place at Fazenda Vassoural in Itu/SP, a location with over 220 years of history, 15 acres with buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries, natural scenic beauties, and all the necessary structure for the comfort and safety of the students and quality in the execution of the project.
"The Beginning of Things" is developed through dynamics, experiences, and provocations and aims to make students aware and understand how their choices interfere with the environment.
The project is developed in six stages. All applied in a hands-on manner, working on autonomy, decision-making, and critical thinking.
1st stage - The Time Capsule - Students will reflect on their daily attitudes regarding the environment.
2nd stage - The Movie - At this moment, students will watch a film produced exclusively for the project. The initial scenes show cavemen living in harmony with the environment, followed by scenes of destruction and transformations caused by humans, and finally, a great challenge for the students: How can we reverse this situation? From there, the students will be part of this plot!
3rd stage - The Search for Answers - Here, students participate in the great adventure presented in the film - cooperatively, they will have to discover the secret hidden in a chest on the farm and, using a map, find valuable items for humanity. In this search, students will also have to face the villains from the movie.
4th stage - The Workshop - Using wood and sustainable carpentry techniques, students will participate in the production of an item present in their homes to understand the industrial processes that use natural resources in production.
5th stage - The Great Game - Simulating real events, students will experience common themes in the relationships between explored countries and explorers. Here, the character "Uncle Sam" sets the rules. There are moments of negotiations, buying and selling of natural resources and technology. A dilemma that depends on the decisions and strategies of each team.
6a stage - The Individual Perspective - How does each student see a possible change regarding consumption? We will retrieve the time capsule, and students will understand that this is possible and depends on their attitudes! This will be the great secret unveiled by them during the experiences lived throughout the day.
