Introduction

AES HYDROELECTRIC POWER PLANT IN ITURAMA

The construction of the Water Red Hydroelectric Power Plant, located in the municipality of Ouroeste, began in 1974 and was completed in 1979.

Many families from other locations began arriving and settling in Ouroeste, where CESP built several houses, transforming it into a residential hub to accommodate the workers involved in the construction of the power plant. Alongside, an airport runway and CESP's hotel were built, which greatly contributed to and accelerated the growth and development of Ouroeste.
