Introduction

In one of the most preserved regions of the São Paulo coast, students closely experience caiçara culture, traditional ways of life, and the balanced relationship between humans and nature. Workshops, interpretative trails, and contact with local residents make learning sensory, emotional, and transformative.

With a peaceful and rural atmosphere, the village of Picinguaba preserves traditions of artisanal fishing and a lifestyle connected to the sea and the Atlantic Forest. The region is part of the Serra do Mar State Park — Picinguaba Sector, a conservation area that protects coastal ecosystems, trails, rivers, and landscapes of rare beauty. Its beaches, such as Praia de Picinguaba and Praia da Fazenda, offer clear waters and perfect settings for swimming, boat rides, diving, and contact with nature. Visiting Picinguaba is experiencing an authentic piece of the Brazilian coast, where sustainable tourism and traditional culture meet in harmony.
