Introduction

Pindamonhangaba is a charming municipality located in the Paraíba Valley, in the interior of São Paulo state, strategically situated between the metropolises of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. With a rich history dating back to the colonial period, its name has indigenous origins and represents the connection with the cultural traditions of the region.

Throughout its formation, the municipality has witnessed significant moments in Brazilian history, reflected in its urban spaces, traditions, and ways of life. This historical context allows for a broad understanding of the processes of land occupation, the development of economic activities, and the social transformations that shaped the region. Thus, the city becomes a true open-air laboratory for understanding the history and organization of Brazilian space.

Pindamonhangaba offers an educational experience that connects regional history, cultural heritage, and the formation of the interior of São Paulo. Students explore historical and cultural spaces that reveal economic cycles, urban and rural life, and the construction of regional identity over time. The itinerary transforms content from History and Geography into concrete experiences, valuing memory, territory, and cultural belonging.
